About Me

I’m a Seattle-based Product & UX Designer with a passion for creating intuitive and engaging user experiences. After many years as a Mechanical Engineer, I found my true calling in design, where I can blend empathy, functionality, and sharp visual aesthetics. I love tackling the challenges that designers encounter!

I have 2 years of design experience from working in SaaS startups. Most recently, I worked in the Training and Coaching branch at Highspot, a sales enablement platform with 15M+ users. There, I delivered new product features and updates, contributed to an evolving design system, and served as the SME for Highspot’s custom-branding offering. I truly enjoyed the company’s dynamic atmosphere and I’m grateful to have flourished as a designer while adding value to the platform.

My extracurricular projects and previous work experiences enhance my abilities as a designer and overall strengths as a professional. In my spare time, I run an electronic dance music events brand called Loosely Based. Through Loosely Based, I’ve been able strengthen Seattle’s dance music community while entertaining my interests in visual design, branding, music, and creating memorable experiences. My background of 13+ years in mechanical engineering has honed my ability to work seamlessly in cross-functional teams, communicate effectively, persuade stakeholders, make data-driven decisions, and adapt to change. Both of these roles have increased my prowess in achieving business goals, collaborating, and solving problems.

By leveraging my diverse skills and experiences, I aim to bring a unique perspective to every project. I’m always open to new connections and love discussing all things design; feel free to say hi!

My Process

Product (UX) Design uses a variety of effective frameworks to solve design problems. They often follow a cycle of discovery, design, and iteration. My process blends these frameworks, emphasizing creativity, collaboration, feedback, and data-driven decisions. It can be outlined as follows:

  • Define the problem and gather requirements
  • Conduct research and refine problem statements
  • Explore and evaluate potential solutions
  • Collaborate with teammates, stakeholders, and users to finalize solutions
  • Increase design fidelity with iterative feedback
  • Perform usability testing and incorporate findings
  • Partner with developers and stakeholders to implement solutions
  • Measure performance, iterate, and optimize designs

Some of the methodologies and deliverables that I apply and produce include:

As I develop my designs, I prefer to keep developers, PMs, and stakeholders continuously informed, as this reduces the risk of any surprises or re-work. When the process is constrained by time or resources (it often is), I will usually make a determination about what steps add the most value and give those most of my energy.
