I’m a Seattle-based Product & UX Designer with a passion for creating intuitive and engaging user experiences. After many years as a Mechanical Engineer, I found my true calling in design, where I can blend empathy, functionality, and creativity. I love tackling the challenges that designers encounter!
I have roughly 3 years of design experience spanning B2B, B2C, and SaaS spaces. Most recently, I worked at Amazon as a Visual Designer supporting the Amazon Custom program. This role involved a holistic approach to UX, UI, and visual design. Crucially, I successfully collaborated with cross-functional teams (UX, PM, and engineering) to craft mockups and prototypes defining optimal future customer (CX) and seller (SX) experiences. I also established a foundational visual design function, providing essential support across product, marketing, and feature implementation needs. The work was truly rewarding and valuable to the program, and I enjoyed the team’s dynamic.
My extracurricular projects and previous work experiences enhance my abilities as a designer and overall strengths as a professional. In my spare time, I run an electronic dance music events brand called Loosely Based. Through Loosely Based, I’ve been able strengthen Seattle’s dance music community while entertaining my interests in visual design, branding, music, and creating memorable experiences. Through additional freelance and passion projects, I have been able to gain a diverse array of design experience while continuing to learn and keep up with current trends. My background of 13+ years in mechanical engineering has honed my ability to work seamlessly in cross-functional teams, communicate effectively, persuade stakeholders, make data-driven decisions, and adapt to change. These roles have increased my prowess in achieving business goals, collaborating, and solving problems.
By leveraging my diverse skills and experiences, I aim to bring a unique perspective to every project. I’m always open to new connections and love discussing all things design; feel free to say hi!
Product (UX) Design uses a variety of effective frameworks to solve design problems. They often follow a cycle of discovery, design, and iteration. My process blends these frameworks, emphasizing creativity, collaboration, feedback, and data-driven decisions. It can be outlined as follows:

As I progress through my work, I prefer to keep developers, PMs, and stakeholders continuously informed, as this reduces the risk of any surprises or re-work. When the process is constrained by time or resources (it often is), I will usually make a determination about what steps add the most value and give those most of my energy.
